ARE YOU A JEHOVAH'S WITNESS?

Are you a Jehovah's Witness? If so then this pamphlet is especially for you.

Your unbounding zeal and energy is well known for diligently seeking to propagate your message from door to door as the only sure and certain way of salvation. Would you therefore come with me and seek to examine your message in the light of the Bible - the Word of God?

THE DEITY OF CHRIST
The Lord Jesus when here on earth asked His disciples the question: "What think ye of Christ? Whose son is He?" This same question is still asked by Him and it is of vital importance. We would like to ask you this question.
I know you are taught that Jesus is not God, but it may surprise you to know that this is not the teaching of the Bible; please search with us for yourself. The first verse of John's Gospel reads: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” There are three very important truths in this verse: (1) Christ's Eternal Existence - "In the beginning was the Word" (2) The distinct personality of the Word -" "and the Word was with God" (3) His full and essential Deity -" and the Word was God."
I know the New World Translation translates the last clause as "the Word was a god" but the indefinite article "a" has been inserted by the translators because they claim that as there is no definite article -"the" - in the Greek that the indefinite article should be used denoting a lesser god. If you care to refer to a Greek lexicon you will discover that the Greek word for God - "Theos" - is often used without the definite article referring to God, the Infinite and Almighty God.
