Proverbs is God’s great book on Christian psychology, touching fearlessly on essentially every issue a person will face in life. Yet it is much more. It is often prophetic of future events. It meshes with so many other Scriptures! One word—wisdom—stands out. One definition of wisdom is the ability to use knowledge rightly—as God says it is right, so it is not human wisdom that is needed!

Leslie Grant takes up the book in two ways. For about ¾ of the book he covers the material with just enough detail to explain what it says and apply it to our lives. But he covers the final chapters in much greater detail, believing these chapters are almost a book in themselves. It can’t be explained in a few sentences, but we believe you will enjoy and profit from reading this entire commentary.

Our brother went to be with the Lord as this book was being worked on, using material written earlier. We dedicate this book to our dear brother in the Lord who taught the deep things of God to many throughout his long lifetime, both in preaching and through his books. It was the book of Proverbs that got Leslie interested in studying spiritual things over 70 years ago. We pray that it will also increase your interest in the Lord’s things.
